Users review: This film has tried to answer two questions: whether the imaginary world of Metropolis still has Superman, and the Man of Steel, in essence, an overgrown boy scout, able to compete with the darker heroes and anti-heroes who dominate the big screen today (as Batman and the heroes of the Marvel Universe). So, the question for the two worlds is still need Superman? After watching the film, I am pleased to report that the answer is a resounding yes! In essence, this film pays tribute to the first great film in all aspects. While some short-sighted people see it as the first tear film or laziness on the part of directors, filmmakers considered themselves to pay tribute to this great movie that made us believe a man can fly (containing as it has done all what makes love the movie). Thus, it helps to see the film in this context. So if you loved the first film, you will almost certainly love this one.Much as happened with X-Men and X2, Singer injected the story with emotional depth and an intriguing thematic subtext and of great importance that has made what could have been just another summer blockbuster filled with action scenes nonsense into something much more. Singer made more effective use of messianic reason that the first film did, and even though I'm not a particularly religious person myself, this is part of the myth of Superman like a glove, since this is essentially the character: a messiah.The Singer secular high quality performance helped bring this ambitious vision to life. Brandon Routh more than adequately filled the big shoes left behind by Christopher Reeve and Richard Donner, director of Superman: The Movie, totally agree (after having said this in an interview with the BBC). Bosworth properly played the role of a woman who really changed his life After The man who loved his abandoned without even a goodbye and displayed real confusion and even bitterness for his return boasted. Spacey really outdone Hackman as Luthor, because he is a bad bad that hatred just ran into the Man of Steel did. Finally, Sam Huntington and Frank Langella perfectly filled the role of Perry White and Jimmy Olsen, respectively.Still, viewers need to know a few things before watching the movie. Even if the film manages to make this explicit, press releases make it clear that Singer chose to ignore Superman 3:04 and instead of focusing on building a story that takes place after Superman I and II . Keep this in mind as you watch the movie, and did not feel lost.Also, try watching the first two films before watching this. This film pays tribute to Superman: The Movie, anyway (and Superman II in a more subtle way), and collecting these references will greatly enhance your experience.Finally, as mentioned before, do not expect a movie Jam Packed with action scenes.
